How to do the Butterfly
A butterfly is a leg over that lands directly in a clipper delay. There is no spin in it - you set the bag, hop off one leg, pass the other leg over the bag, and catch it cross-body on the instep. Nearly every trick in this tier is built on it.
Tutorial by PassBack
STEP BY STEP
- From a right toe delay, set the bag up and slightly towards yourself.
- Hop off your right leg.
- Pass your left leg over the top of the bag.
- Bring the right foot across behind your left leg into the clipper position.
- Catch the bag on the inside surface of the right foot, cross-body.
TIPS
- Set slightly towards yourself, not away - a bag drifting forward cannot be clippered.
- The clipper delay has to be automatic before you add the leg over.
- There is no spin in a butterfly. If you are turning, you are doing an osis.
