TrickLadder Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
TrickLadder ("we", "us") is a mobile app that helps you learn footbag
(hacky sack) freestyle tricks. This policy explains what we collect and how
we use it. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- Account information — if you create an account, we store your email address and a display name (nickname), managed through our authentication provider, Supabase.
- Progress data — the tricks you've learned, your XP, streak, and best coaching scores. This is stored on your device and, if you sign in, synced to your account so you don't lose it.
- Coaching frames — when you use the AI coach, still image frames are extracted from your video on your device and sent to our analysis server to generate feedback.
- Content you share — posts, scores, captions, and links you choose to publish to the community feed.
What we do NOT do
- We never upload or store your videos. Only extracted still frames are sent for analysis, and they are not retained after your feedback is returned.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
Camera and microphone
The app requests camera and microphone access only to record trick
attempts for AI coaching. You can use every other feature of the app without
granting these permissions.
Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication and database. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Expo / EAS — app build and delivery. See expo.dev/privacy.
- Anthropic — the AI coaching analysis runs on Anthropic's Claude API. Frames are processed to generate feedback and are not used to train models.
Children
TrickLadder is suitable for all ages and contains no mature content. We do
not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond the optional
account email and nickname described above.
Deleting your data
You can reset all local progress from within the app. To delete your
account and any synced data, contact us at the email below and we will remove
it.
